Project Notes

Customer wanted an out-of-the-ordinary wedding band that didn’t stray too far from traditional conventions and yet was subtly distinctive. Piece of cake, right?

Rose gold was chosen for its chic beauty and relatively novel color. The tea leaf pattern was inspired by the family’s long and illustrious legacy in the tea trade (with serval rags-to-riches and riches-to-rags-and-back stories to be told).

Engraving area was first framed by a pair of border lines hand carved around the edges to give illusion of leaves floating by.

Warren's Notes

I’ve always marvelled at the skill of painters who can pull off a nice still life. Natural, organic forms always have a subtly that’s hard to capture in an unnatural medium like a flat canvass or, in my case, a gold ring. Here I imagined myself at a tea harvest inspecting a particularly good strain close up and then my hands took over. Very pleased with the results.
